Puerto de la Cruz Tenerife
One of Tenerife's most visited and longest established resorts, Puerto de la Cruz is situated on the north coast of the island. The picturesque town has grown up around the lovely fishing port and harbour and most of the older parts are remarkably unchanged. The town has fantastic atmosphere, the old houses that line the cobbled streets are constructed in traditional canarian style and the harbour is home to many fishing boats which land their catch daily. If you want to head for the beach, Puerto de la Cruz has three to offer, these are small and have black sand, also nearby is the Lido / Pool Martianez which has recently been refurbished.
Move out from the old town and the old houses give way to the modern face of Puerto de la Cruz, with bright modern hotels which are some of the best in Tenerife.
Other Puerto de la Cruz attractions include the botanical gardens and the parrot park (Loro Parque).
