Los Gigantes Tenerife

The location of Los Gigantes is in the southwest of the island, in a stunning area which is renowned for it's outstanding natural beauty, not only in Tenerife but throughout the Canary Islands.

The translation of the resorts name is 'Cliffs of the giants' this comes from Acantilados de los Gigantes, and you will see why on your visit, the sheer 500m rock walls of Los Gigantes impressive cliffs drop straight down into the sea.

The impressive Marina is one of the focal points of the town and is lined with restaurants and bars, sea food is a speciality and locally caught fish is always on the menu.

Los Gigantes is the resort for those looking for a quiet relaxing holiday, there is a good selection of restaurants and bars but no discos and nightclubs so nightlife is low key. If you want lively nights out the larger resorts of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos are a more suitable holiday destination.

Los Gigantes only has a small beach of black volcanic sand, this is sheltered by the cliffs and lapped by crystal clear, warm waters which are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Another good beach can be found at nearby Puerto de Santiago.

El Marques Palace Los Gigantes Tenerife

Owners overview

The apartment - El Marques Palace

The apartment catches the sun from early in the morning until it sets flamboyantly over the sea in the evening – the balcony is a fabulous place to be at this time of day - raising a glass of local wine in the glorious golden light!!!
The apartment has two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and glass door to the balcony, the other with two single beds. Both have plenty of wardrobe and storage space. There is a double sofa bed in the lounge bringing maximum capacity to six if you so want. Cot and high chair are available for our smaller guests!

Towels are provided and you’ll find the cosy beds made up on arrival with a mid-week clean by the friendly maids, including a change of bed linen and towels. The kitchen bin is emptied daily by the maids who greet you with a cheery ‘hola’ as they go about their work keeping the whole complex spotless.

There are two pretty bathrooms - both with bath and shower.

The kitchen is fully fitted (fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, hob, large oven and grill plus washing machine and microwave, liquidiser - even a fruit juicer!). Eating in, if you so desire, is a very easy option, especially as the supermarket will deliver your shopping! A welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, water and wine await your arrival. Friendly maids empty the bins daily. The apartment has an iron and board and a hairdryer so no need to pack these.

312 does have air conditioning but, as patio doors fill one wall of the open plan lounge flooding the room with light and air, the owners havent had much cause to use it.
Satellite TV, DVD and a CD player are available for your enjoyment. 312 El Marques Palace has also subscribed to membership of the local DVD hire shop for you. This means that for a tiny fee of 1 Euro per night you can hire films to enjoy in the comfort of your own apartment. The elegant beech wood dining table and chairs make for sophisticated dining inside or there are sun-beds, chairs and a table on the large balcony for more al fresco meals.
The wide verandah, with sun loungers, extends the living space of this already spacious apartment.

The elegant beech wood dining table and chairs make for sophisticated dining inside or there is a table and chairs set on the wide balcony for more al fresco meals.

Although located on the third floor this apartment is very easily accessed by the lift or stairs.

We do also have connections with other owners in El Marques Palace if you wanted to bring a larger party of friends or family and needed extra apartments.

A welcome pack of wine, water, tea/coffee/milk and sugar await your arrival. Comfortable furniture, friendly, helpful owners and staff on site, English pillows on the beds, plus a large selection of books and CDs to borrow, make this a cosy home from home and many of our guests return time after time, after time!!

The area

The complex has two HEATED swimming pools - not many in the area are heated but this large pool is gorgeous, plus another one for the children, and a poolside snack bar. The sun hits the pool early in the morning and stays until early evening. El Marques Palace also has two tennis courts and bowling greens, great fun!

There are a host of restaurants in the local area from traditional Spanish fare at El Meson (dine with romantic views of the sun setting over the sea or the island of La Gomera – just watch you dont stick your fork in your ear), through to more sophisticated Mirandas in the village. Have a look at our list of recommended eateries – there’s so much choice, from freshly landed fish to traditional roast dinner or an Indian meal (they also deliver). You could honestly eat out every night and not visit the same restaurant twice and all within a reasonable walking distance.
