Tenerife offers plenty to do if you don't want to spend your holiday lazing by the pool or down at the beach. The famous volcano crater Cañadas del Teide which rises to a height of 3718 meters and has a diameter of around 20 km's is in the middle of the island and is one of the main tourist attractions, this area is a national park and a cable car ride takes you nearly to its summit which offers some spectacular views of the island.
